The West African Center for Banking Studies and Training (COFEB) is organizing a workshop on “Macroeconomic Modeling and Forecasting using Eviews Econometric Software” from June 8 to 11, 2021, for staff of the Central Bank, the Secretariat General of the WAMU Banking Commission (SGCBU) and the African Center for Advanced Studies in Management (CESAG). The workshop, which will be hosted on the Zoom platform, will be facilitated by Professor Robert Freeman McNown of the University of Colorado, in  Boulder, CO, U.S.A., President of JTC Econometrics LLC, in Boulder, and guest lecturer at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he teaches a course on modeling using Eviews software.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide researchers and staff involved in the Central Bank’s macroeconomic aggregates forecasting activities with an opportunity to upgrade their skills in econometric and statistical analysis using Eviews software. It will allow them to work with seasoned experts to explore programming techniques and recent improvements to these econometric analysis tools.

At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to use advanced forecasting and modeling techniques based on EViews software to design economic analysis and forecasting tools within the scope of their duties.

The workshop will be chaired by the General Manager of COFEB, Mr. Ousmane Samba Mamadou.
