The West African Center for Banking Studies and Training (COFEB), in collaboration with Princeton University in the United States and Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis, Senegal, is organizing a webinar-based study and research workshop on July 24, 2020 on the subject of “conducting monetary policy in the context of the COVID-19 crisis”.
This online workshop, which will be held using the Google Meet application, aims to create a framework for reflection between the BCEAO, partner central banks, the research community in the Union and international research centers on the new challenges facing central banks in general and the BCEAO in particular, in the context of the COVID-19 health crisis.

It will be divided into two sub-themes entitled (i) “Implementing Economic and Monetary Policy Instruments in the Context of a Health Crisis: A Review of Recent Studies on the Issue” and (ii) “Impact of the Shock and Ripples through the Various Sectors of the Economy”.
The seminar will be chaired by the General Manager of COFEB, Mr. Ousmane Samba Mamadou. It will be facilitated by Professor Leonard Wantchekon of Princeton University in the United States and Professor Adama Diaw of Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis, Senegal.
